It feels like it’s time to have a change in local politics: we need to put communities ahead of political parties; to be inclusive not exclusive; and to reject outdated top-down politics. I’m new to this, so I’m open to hearing things with fresh ears and will act accordingly.

I’ve been in Stonehouse since the noughties and I’ve come to love its eclectic nature and its vibrant re-imagining of local identity. The people of Stonehouse are both welcoming and generous and we are blessed with green spaces and good connectivity – a world apart from the stereotype that others still impose upon Stonehouse residents.

I’m currently involved in two major projects in North Stonehouse aimed at making our neighbourhood a better place:

  • Cliik a CCBS (Charitable Community Benefit Society) that is working to secure affordable, energy-efficient property for locals; and
  • Snapdragons a CIC (Community Interest Company) a holistic early years centre and community hub in Victoria Park.

About me

As the parent of an autistic teenage daughter who’s living away from home in sheltered accommodation, I have personal experience of dealing with social services and understand the struggles that many face from day to day.

I’m also a seasoned campaigner, not afraid to get stuck in on behalf of others and committed to defending of the rights of the common people and of the planet. My activism has enabled me to develop a thick skin and not to take ‘No’ for an answer.

I’ve been involved with the campaign to Save the Trees of Armada Way STRAW, since October 2022, and was there on the night of the felling trying to stop the destruction.  In C4P, I continue to fight for the democratic representation we desperately need to ensure that the Council doesn’t continue to ignore the people’s voice on issues like this.

As your advocate I would robustly defend our right to fair representation and to the funding that we need to revitalise our community spirit in Stonehouse.
