Emily Quick

It’s time for change. Our Councillors need to put political differences aside and act on behalf of the residents in their ward and city. We are louder when we work together and I want to get your voices heard.

Southway Ward

I have lived in in Southway for 4 years now and have grown up in the surrounding areas, so I know the north of the city well.  We are so lucky to live so close to Dartmoor, woodland areas, and have green spaces around us while also being near to the city centre. I love living here and I’m sure you do too, however, what I don’t love is that we are often forgotten about and that is why I am running again.

About me:

I am fortunate to feel confident that I have a good understanding of the needs of different generations due to having been a teen mum, having parents in their early 50’s, having 4 sets of grandparents and friends of different ages and stages in life.

This is my 3rd year running for election, having first lost when Richard Bingley was voted in. With that I hope I have shown residents in my ward that I am hard working and persistent. Over these years I have spoken to many residents reporting issues online and even hosted a community picnic in Belliver for the Queens Jubilee. What I have learnt is that without being elected, it makes it very difficult to get things moving and questions answered.

So residents of Belliver, Widewell, Southway and Tamerton Foliot, I ask you to think carefully about who you vote for this year and to consider voting for me. I want to hear your thoughts and get our voices heard and ensure you get fair representation.

What I will do and want to work on in the Ward

– Improved play parks

– Woodland walks kept accessible to all where possible

– Councillor drop-ins across the wards

– Community meetings to discuss issues and proposals moving forward

– Disability access improved across the wards including more dropped curbs

– Parking areas improved

– Continue to support community litter picking

– Work with local police to reduce anti-social behaviour and crime

And more.
